Childs Apron

This child's apron arrived in my atelier with a request that it be prepared and mounted for display, alongside a photograph of it being worn by the owners mother when she was a child. It's condition was reasonably stable, but it had several disfiguring iron based stains and was heavily creased, with particular distortion in the pleated edge section. In preparation for mounting, I used spot cleaning techniques to reduce the staining, and then gently humidified, weighted and pinned the edge sections in order to reintroduce the original pleating. A padded board was made, to which the apron and photo were attached, in preparation for framing at a later date.
